The Forest Theater Guild presents…
“BIG NIGHT! A RECESSION PROOF EVENING - GREAT FILM AND GREAT FOOD!”
Sponsored by FAVALORO’S BIG NIGHT BISTRO

(TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17: Carmel, CA): On Friday, February 27, 2009, the Forest Theater Guild is proud to present “BIG NIGHT”, the fourth and final film in a special series at the Golden State Theatre. The “BIG NIGHT”, sponsored by Favaloro’s BIG NIGHT BISTRO will feature fine food and a fun-filled movie about the foibles of the restaurant industry. Light refreshments provided by Favaloro’s and other local restaurants including Epsilon, The Sandbar &Grill, Petra’s Café, Koko’s Mediterranean Café and others will be served during a brief reception from 6:30p.m.-7:30p.m. in the theatre’s Mezzanine. (Wine will be available for an additional donation.) The film begins at 7:30p.m. Tickets for Film and Food are $5.00 per person. All proceeds of the special event benefit the Guild’s youth outreach programs. “This is a great DATE event! Where else can you be treated to a variety of fine food and a sophisticated, fun film for ONLY $5.00 per person!” stated Jane De Lay, executive director of the Forest Theater Guild. “Everyone should come to this.”
BIG NIGHT is the story of two brothers, Primo and Secondo, who have emigrated from Italy to open an Italian restaurant in America. Primo is the irascible and gifted chef; Secondo is the smooth front-man, trying to keep the restaurant financially afloat. They plan a special benefit night to increase business. Primo begins to prepare his masterpiece, a feast of a lifetime, for the brothers' Big Night.
Favaloro’s BIG NIGHT Bistro in Pacific Grove specializes in fresh Italian fare with an emphasis on seafood. This family-owned restaurant has been a Pacific Grove favorite for nearly a decade. Quiet and cozy, it is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, yet remains a rare fine food restaurant where families are warmly welcomed. Proprietor Marie Favaloro is a gracious hostess and an excellent chef.
The Guild’s All-Star Outreach program is a proven model for pro-active outreach in the live performing arts to youth throughout Monterey County.
The special film series is made possible by support from the Golden State Theatre and the City of Monterey.
